Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,
Lenten blessings to you!
Beloved in the Lord, I look forward to being with you in person or on FaceBook live this Fourth Sunday in Lent at 10:30 AM especially because — Oh my goodness — the music for this Sunday’s worship is sure to bring you joy and inspire your souls! Our focus in worship is based on the lectionary reading from Luke 15.1-3, 11b-32 — the parable of the prodigal son. Or is it the parable of the loving parent? Perhaps it is the parable of . . . ?Come to church on Sunday and find out as my sermon title is Welcome Home. As mentioned above, our music will reflect this parable featuring music from the film “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” The Joyful Noise Adult Choir will sing “I'll Fly Away”/“Keep on the Sunnyside.” And we have not one, but two quartets who will sing “Down to the River to Pray”/“Listen to the Children Praying” and “In the Highways.” In addition, Brian Kolins and Tom Martucci will be accompanying the singers on percussion and bass. Also, please make sure you stop by our Lenten table to take in the Meditation and Practices for the Week as we seek God’s beauty through Van Gogh’s artwork, “The Sower.”
It’s going to be a great day to praise, love, and worship God!
In gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
