Second Sunday of Advent
Post date: Dec 05, 2020 3:21:9 PM
Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,
Blessings of Advent hope to you.
Well, beloved one of God, so it is. I'm writing to give you the news that Jamie tested positive for COVID-19. Thankfully, he is feeling much better than previously, and I feel okay too. I will arrange a test with my PCP to determine my COVID-19 status. We are grateful for all your support and prayers, those who have shopped for us, and the many offers to shop. Please continue to pray for us as we navigate this challenging time.
I look forward to welcoming you to worship on this Second Sunday of Advent when we will gather online at 10:15 AM to chat with one another, and then worship together at 10:30 AM on Zoom. For the safety and health of all we cannot livestream from the sanctuary so our music will be played from YouTube. Angela Hank and Lisa Van Savage will light the Advent candle from their home, and I encourage you to light your candle along with them. This Sunday we continue our Advent sermon series Longing for More written by Lisa Vanderkamp. I will be preaching from Isaiah 40.21-31 and my sermon title is We Are Weary. We will also celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper, so please have bread and juice/wine with you during worship.
One of our beloved members, Deacon Dan Pannebaker, posted a song on Facebook called “All is Well” by Voctave. It has sustained me through this difficult week, and I share it with you so that it will remind you of the hope that is coming through the birth of a baby.
