Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,
The grace and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you during this season of Lent.
This Friday we are sending you the gift of bells and song, as music always gladdens the heart and refreshes the soul. Here is a YouTube link featuring our Handbell Choir and some of our children and teachers singing. I hope the bells ringing and children singing brings joy to your day!
Beloved, I look forward to welcoming you this Second Sunday in Lent as we gather online at 10:15 AM to chat with one another, and then worship at 10:30 AM via Zoom. We are planning to pre-record the worship, so we will watch it together on Zoom like we did last week. Jamie Zeller is our featured soloist and he will sing “Will You Come and Follow Me?” and “Tree of Life and Awesome Mystery.” I will be preaching from Mark 8.27-37 and my sermon title is We Are Not Our Own.
As we continue our Lenten journey with Jesus in these challenging times, I invite you to whisper the following words of thanksgiving as a daily prayer, I will give thanks for what is instead of withholding my praise until all is as it should be (Barbara Brown Taylor). Amen. May it be so!
In gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,
Pastor Trish
