Come on Back to Church!

Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,

Epiphany blessings to you! I pray you are staying warm and dry on this dreary winter day in New Jersey.

Beloved, I am very encouraged by the rate of transmission for COVID-19 taking a drastic downward turn. Thanks be to God! Because of this drop you are warmly welcomed to return to our sanctuary for in person worship this Sunday. We will also offer our usual FaceBook livestream. Please make every effort to attend worship as this is the Sunday we hold our annual congregational meeting. Come and find out all about the ministries we have accomplished in 2021 through the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us — even with the pandemic! We will also be voting on our Consistory nominations — For Deacon: Pamela Ehrlich and James Zeller; For Elder: Angela Hank and Peter Larson. For those who are out of town or unable to attend, you may Zoom in so you may be a part of the meeting.

I truly look forward to being with you in worship this Fifth Sunday after Epiphany at 10:30 AM. Mike Steib is our featured musician this week and he will be singing “In the Bleak Midwinter” for our Prelude and “Morning Has Broken” for our Anthem. I will be preaching from Isaiah 6.1-8 and Luke 5.1-11 and my sermon title is Fishing, Interrupted. Ms. Judy is taking a well deserved vacation, so we welcome Tom Martucci at the organ.

As much as I want to physically see you, if you are feeling unwell, please stay home and take good care of yourself. For those worshiping in person, masks are required and we ask that you practice social distancing for the health and safety of all.

In gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,

Pastor Trish
