Dear MRC Family,

Advent blessings of hope, peace, and joy to you

I look forward to worshiping with you this Third Sunday of Advent as we celebrate the joy of the soon-coming Christ Child. Tom is leading us in our hymns and the Joyful Noise Adult Choir will sing the Anthem “Night of All Nights.” AnnaRose Rotondi will be lighting the third candle on our Advent Wreath, the candle of Joy. I am preaching from Isaiah 55.1-13 — God invites us to a lavish feast — and my sermon title is When God Throws a Party. As it is the second Sunday, we will receive our Deacons’ offering to help those in need in our church and community. You may also donate online at www.mrchurch.us/give. If you are unable to be in person for worship, we stream live on our YouTube channel, https://www.youtube.com/@mrcafabulouschurchoflove1611.

Some upcoming events:
If you ordered a Meatloaf dinner, pick up is behind the Education Building from 5:30-6:30PM this Saturday. Please try to get your dinner earlier rather than later.

We are receiving gift cards for the Calico Food Pantry through December 21. Grab an ornament from the Giving Tree and purchase a gift card as listed on the back of the ornament. Thank you for helping families in our community experience a blessed Christmas!

Middletown Helps Its Own Christmas dinner and toy delivery is Saturday, December 20 at New Monmouth Baptist Church at 9AM. If you are able to volunteer, please contact Beverly Bova Scarano at 908-896-1682.

Sunday, December 21 is our Children’s Christmas Pageant, The Drowsy Shepherds written by Nancy Coffin. After worship, we will have a Christmas brunch and party with a special visit from Santa, Mrs. Claus, and the elves.

Plan now to come, and bring a friend, to our Christmas Eve Family Friendly and Traditional Candlelight worship at 6:30PM. The New Jericho Choir and Joyful Noise Adult Choir will be singing along with special music with Sarah Hanvey, vocals; Brian Kolins, percussion; Andrew Olenik, violin; Ahava Walpola, trumpet. We will also celebrate the Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper on this most holy night. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not (and will never) overcome it -- John 1.5. Hallelujah and thanks be to God!

Keep following and bothering Jesus, beloved. See you Sunday!

With gratitude for the privilege of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,

Pastor Trish
