Back from Sabbath

Dear Middletown Reformed Church Family and Friends,

Grace and peace to you in this season of Ordinary Time!

I am back from vacation and happy to be so. My sabbath was a space of rest, reflection, and joy as I slept late, went on hikes, swam, and ate lots of yummy, locally sourced food. I have much to share with you about how I witnessed God over the last few weeks, but that will come at another time.

Yes, my sabbath was wonderful but as I was writing my sermon, gathering together the liturgy, and creating the bulletin this week, I realized how much I missed worship and love creating a welcoming and joyful space for our congregation on Sundays.

I look forward to being back in worship with you this Twelfth Sunday after Pentecost in person or on Facebook live. Tom Martucci will be leading us in song as we worship our God through the gift of music. I will be preaching from Luke 14.1, 7-14 — a parable about God’s preferred banquet — and my sermon title is Table Talk.

I can’t wait to give you a hug on Sunday!

In gratitude for the joy of being your pastor and the holy call of loving you,

Pastor Trish
